I saw him making sweet gelatin in Pueblito Paisa. His hands moved too fast at times, stretching it this way and that. I was mesmerized because I had just seen this gentlemen on TV earlier that day. Where we were was a big draw for tourists and he showed his skills on TV as a woman beside him spoke about the gelatin he was making out of carne de res.
At one point a boy pressed against the side of the stand, his eyes curious about this sweet in the making. I asked the man if I could take his photo and he obliged.
Stretch, whip, pull, stretch. I snapped a few photos and he soon was surrounded by people asking him about his trade.
I raised my voice and thanked him for allowing me to take a photo. He nodded and winked at me, continuing his work.
By the way, the treat was heavenly.
