Amaris Castillo is a Brooklyn native and daughter of Dominican immigrants. She is a journalist and the author of Bodega Stories, out September 8, 2026 from the University Press of Florida.
Amaris is passionate about literary citizenship. She is the lead book reviewer for the Dominican Writers Association and a contributor to Latinx in Publishing. She holds an MS from Columbia Journalism School and a BA in journalism from the University of South Florida. She lives in the Tampa Bay area with her family.
